Baroka FC are on the brink of promotion to the PSL for the first time in their history. This season has been sensational for the Limpopo club and we take a look at them.
The hailing all the way from Ga-Mphahlele in Limpopo Baroka FC have caught the admiration of many who follow South African football. The club was only founded in 2007 and have achieved numerous feats since then. They announced themselves to South Africa in 2011 in ther Nedbank Cup run in which they defeated Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs. Since then they have continued to make strides in South African football.
Specialties in Giant Killing
Their exploits have not only been in the National First Dividion but in the Nedbank Cup as well. They have been dubed the ‘Giant Killers’ from their exploits in the Nedbank Cup. They have defeated Chippa United and Golden Arrows en route to their semifinal berth this month and will want to progress to the final for the first time.
One game away from a remarkable feat
Possibilities of gaining promotion are high as they need one more win to ensure promotion. With two rounds of fixtures remaining and a superior goal difference to Highlands Park, promotion is almost certain. PSL clubs watch out Kgokolo Thobejane’s men are on their way!
