Its time for SA cricket to redeem itself

The past five years have not been good at all for South African cricket. The Proteas have lost a lot and gained little in the process. There is no other time than now to get to the bottom of the trouble.

The upcoming series is vital to starting afresh

With the series against world champions West Indies coming up, a lot is expected from Russell Domingo’s boys. This series should be used as strategy to build a new team that can take the nation forward and win the next world cup.

Positives there and there but not good enough

However there has been some positives over the years, especially last year. With the recruit of fast bowler Kagiso Rabada who has lifted the weight over Dale Steyn’s shoulders. The young Rabada has been able to pick up major wickets in previous tournaments. He has been the star in the team.

Players need to rise for bigger occasions

The batting line up still needs another AB Devilliers and Hashim Amla. The young Quinton de Kock is coming good as well. Consistency and a big heart at big tournaments is what we need. This coming series should be used as a first step of the rebuilding phase.
