In life you got to admire beautiful things around you. That is how it should be in football as well. As football fans we have to applaud good things done by those teams we do not support. At the end of the day it is about the beauty of this game, rivalry can come second.
The ‘Pep Guardiola factor’
Chippa United coach Dan Malesela deserves a huge round of applause from all the South African football followers. He has brought something that the nation is not familiar with in its territory. That is carpet football, famously known as tiki taka these days which was invented by now Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during his spell at Barcelona.
Something new has been brought
In South Africa we used to seeing teams struggle to put together a string of passing combinations. We are known for playing balloon football, where we kick it back where it comes from. Malesela and Chippa have changed all of that.
It makes it hard for the opposition
They made a dangerous Mamelodi Sundowns look ordinary when these sides met yesterday in the MTN8 at Mbombela. They had a lot of swag in their play, they played the ball with confidence and were never fazed by threat losses by Billiat, Dolly and Kekana to name a few Sundowns players.
