Salah not the answer to Liverpool biggest problem

I admire Mohamed Salah. He is a wonderful footballer who scores goals and his record in Italy with Roma speaks for itself. However, he is not going to be the answer to Liverpool’s biggest problem.

Salah is strongly linked with a possible move to Anfield. Every Liverpool fan and neutrals are excited about the prospect of a possible move. And yes, there is no problem in that considering the quality Salah possesses, he is definitely going to light up the Premier League.

Looking on the other side though, I doubt Liverpool were in serious need to break their transfer record to sign the Egyptian. The club already has proven goalscorers, such as Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino who proved vital for the club’s Champions League qualifiaction succes. Liverpool scored 78 goals last season and were just 8 short from top scorers Tottenham Hotspur who had 86. That proved the quality they have going forward.

The main area that needs serious attention is the defence. The club failed to see out many matches last season. They conceded stupendous goals time and time again. Also going into the Champions League it is not going to any easier. The left back position which has been occupied by the versatile James Milner needs some serious looking at if they are to be strong contenders for the League title next season. With the likely departure of Mamadou Sakho on the cards, a lot more needs to be done with that defence. Yes Salah Sarah is quality but a good defence win you trophies.
